Mit Namen wie Sven Väth, Der Dritte Raum, Johannes Heil, Pascal F.E.O.S., Toni Rios, Oliver Bondzio (von Hardfloor), Little Computer People (Anthony Rother), Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola und Chris Liebing erfolgte im Jahr 2000 der Auftakt der bis heute erscheinenden Reihe „Cocoon Compilation“ auf dem Sven-Väth-Label Cocoon Recordings. Entgegen einer Nutzung von Jahreszahlen oder Nummern liegt die Zählweise dieser Reihe auf einzelnen Buchstaben. Los ging’s mit dem „A“ und Ende 2023 erscheint die Ausgabe mit dem „U“, welche auch als Limited-Vinyl-Box-Set mit 6 lila farbenen Schallplatten für 99 EUR erhältlich ist. Mittlerweile sagen mir nur noch die wenigstens Namen etwas, in diesem Fall sogar nur Ian Pooley, aber die Reihe steht vermutlich auch heute noch für klangvolle, heute angesagte Musiker*innen in der Techno-Szene. Meine Favoriten aus der „Cocoon Compilation U“ sind Jakob Reiter – „Il Rotori“, Levon Vincent – „Waiting“ und Fango – „Betta“.
