Honestly, I really have no idea why the blog of the LICHTER Streetview, a part of the upcoming LICHTER Filmfest in Frankfurt am Main, is completly in english, but anyway, announced as an „adventure playground for all“ there could be interessting things coming up in the near future.

„Five selected international artists develop positions, which carry the cinema, the moving image and projection into the center of Frankfurt. Maybe these images irritate, hopefully they entertain – in any case, they will attract attention, thereby correlating film and city.  Filmmakers, architects, cinema-makers, artists, street and urban art activists are invited to be inspired by these concepts and through their projects, to stimulate the emergence of innovative forms of expression and to transport unconventional concepts.“ (lichterstreetview.wordpress.com/about)

The deadline for the submission via streetview@lichter-filmfest.de is already the 15th febraury 2013. The competition is open to film makers, architects, cinema-makers, artists, street and urban art activists who would like to realise their ideas in Frankfurt.

Somehow, it reminds me a little bit of the Playing The City-stuff from the Schirn and also of the Rossmarkt Hoch Drei-experiences. I welcome every kind of (inter)action at one of the most boring places in downtown Frankfurt.

LICHTER Streetview will take place at Roßmarkt from 22nd to 23rd march 2013, the festival itself from 19th to 24th march.
